Queen of coping mechanisms
So as the title mentions, yes I am the self proclaimed coping mechanism queen, I’ve tried almost everything in the book to escape or express my emotions and current physical state.
My current coping mechanisms at the moment are going to the gym, biking, this blog , and I’m not all sure if this counts but watching random videos on the manosphere.
And yes they do help, of course my problems aren’t all solved but hey they’re called coping mechanisms for a reason.
And to be completely transparent I consider any activity or hobby I participate in a coping mechanism. Personally everything I do is to maintain my emotional stability, the result of this is me being extremely hyper active. Take this blog for an example, it was the result of a random impulse I had when I was extremely lost in thought. This blog in a way regulated my emotions and thoughts.
Coping mechanisms or “hobbies” I'd like to try next are getting better at playing guitar, learning self defense, and maybe getting to my damn homework assignments for once. Here I am avoiding essays by making essays on this blog… doesn’t make sense to me either but it works.
Coping mechanisms I’ve already delved into from what I can recall is, my obsession with playing pool for that one week, my three month infatuation with trying every kombucha flavor there may be, making music (even though I still try once in a blue moon), studying polytheistic beliefs, braiding hair, making lasagna, rock climbing, etc , you get the point, I’m somewhat manic.
Everyone has coping mechanisms though, I tend to feel a little unhinged because of how quickly mine change but I’m pretty sure everyone has some weird coping mechanisms to deal with life, I don't know if my yearning for new coping mechanisms will ever calm down but I either way I'm fine with any out come, to be transparent I actually enjoy the fact that I've jumped from mechanism to mechanism because I've learned new things throughout the way, like yea .. maybe I need therapy .. but going to eat at some expensive coffee shop in downtown sounds more appealing...
